Well, we actually got back from Vegas Tuesday night. We were going to blog while we were there, but we didn’t get around to getting the computer out. And we were going to blog when we got back, but…well…we didn’t right away. Tough.
The trip went well–won some money in the sports book, won even more at the tables, and didn’t get arrested. Unfortunately, we missed the ‘Pole-a-Palooza’ at The Mirage on Tuesday night. Next time, better planning.
Some quick reviews:
- Stayed at the Golden Nugget downtown. It was nice. Not great. Not as good as last time, but nice enough.
- Favorite hotel & casino? Still Wynn Las Vegas. Sat at a blackjack table for 14 hours on Sunday. Other than a couple of annoying coked out Paris Hilton wannabes right away in the morning, it was another wonderful experience–great players, great dealers, great floor people, great cocktail waitresses.
- Binion’s Original Coffeehouse–it’s not the fanciest in Vegas, but after the flight, and after 14 hours of drinking whiskey while playing blackjack, it hit the spot.
- Hennessey’s Tavern downtown (same block as the neon mueseum)–dumb promotion with the World’s Largest Pint, but a good sandwich.
- Voodoo Lounge at the Rio–still the greatest view in Vegas, but the whole place has kind of turned to crap since they started targeting the same market as The Palms. What used to be a nice lounge with a too loud bar now is all uncomfortable couches and $12 crappy drinks.
