Female Professor Confirms – Men Are Better at Parking

Scientists at a German University recently published the results of a study that confirmed that men really are better at parking–straight on or parallel, and actually are still quicker at it than women as well.

Particularly interesting was that the co-author of the study was a woman–Dr. Claudia Wolf–who took on the study in part because of the he number of chauvinistic comments she encountered about women drivers.

The Hangover DVD Review

Had the opportunity to check out the DVD of The Hangover (Unrated Two-Disc Special Edition) over the weekend, and have to admit, I’m impressed. The DVD includes both the theatrical release and an unrated version of the film, along with some standard DVD fare–commentary, gag reel, and some extra photos from the missing camera (if you’d like to try to win a free copy of The Hangover on Blu-Ray, check our previous post).

Fire at Guinness Plant Threatens Supply

Just a few months back, we were writing about Guinness turning 250 years old, and having a lease at their brewery at St. John’s Gate that lasts until approximately 10,759 AD.

Today, there are fears for the world’s Guinness supply, after a fire broke out at the brewery–although no word on whether it was the historical part of the brewery, or a newer building that was impacted.

There were no injuries in the blaze, which required “over nine fire brigades and three rigs with aerial ladder platforms” to be contained before spreading to an ammonia plant on site.… more>>

Real Drinks Have…Gummy Bears?

So I stumbled across an article the other day about the World Bartender Championships–at least, I thought it was–when a couple of things jumped out at me.

First, the article I first found featured a bartender who’s signature drink is a “White Gummy Bear Martini”. That sounds wrong on a couple of levels–a “martini” that features peach schnapps, lime juice and Sprite (along with raspberry vodka), or a drink in general that tastes like a white gummy bear.
