New York Jets add Cheerleaders!

OK, it’s not really recent news, nor big news, but I just realized that the New York Jets have added Cheerleaders to their sidelines this season, called the ‘Flight Crew.’ Apparently they realized they weren’t going to be that good this year. That leaves only six NFL teams without Cheerleaders.

Frenchwoman on trial for kissing “art”

French prosecutors Tuesday requested a hefty fine and a civics course against a woman who planted a lipstick-red kiss on a piece of artwork by US artist Cy Twombly. Seems fairly straight forward, until you read the details:

1) The piece of “artwork”, valued at 2 million Euros (which is somehow damn near $3 million US dollars), was a pure white canvas. Pamela & Denise MIGHT do Playboy…again…

Over exposed Playmate Pamela Anderson and former Wild Thing playmate (as in Charlie Sheen, aka Rick ‘Wild Thing’ Vaughn…or Matt Dillon/Neve Campbell three way action) Denise Richards may do a Playboy spread together. Then again, they also might not (that’s why it’s Almost News).

Our boy Hugh Hefner has reportedly offered them $1 million to pose together for the January 2008 issue. No word on if that’s $1 million apiece, or for the package. Captain Obvious: Study Confirms Guys Like Hot Chicks

In an apparent attempt to win the coveted ‘Most Worthless Scientific Study of the Year’ Award, a team led by Peter M. Todd of the cognitive science program at Indiana University, Bloomington has confirmed that men are attracted to hot women, and women are more choosy about their partners.

Based on a huge sample of 26 men and 20 women in Munich, Germany, Todd & crew had the group engage in speed dating sessions, recording what they would be interested in before the sessions, and comparing who they actually chose to ask for second dates to those interests. Not … more>>

Strippers Helping out Secret Service

Admittedly a headline more likely to have shown up during the Clinton administration, but strippers at Deja Vu in Nashville, Tennessee helped the Secret Service nab a counterfeiter in April. Super genius Damon Armagost spent $600 of fake $100 bills on lap dances. The suspicious dancers called police, who confronted Armagost. Armagost initially told the police that he got the fake money when he sold some gold coins to an unidentified person for $1400.

We weren’t all that thrilled with how the latest Manlyweb News section turned out–that’s what happen when we rely on ourselves to code this stuff–so we finally paid someone to help us design an actual blog again. Unlike our last blog, which we lost when we melted down another server at our 4th or 5th hosting company, this time we’re just going to feature our own content, rather than bringing in content from places like Fark and Milk & Cookies. We ended up deleting a lot of their crap anyway.
