Some friends of mine regularly get together for drinks, and depending on the location, almost always end up playing those touch screen video games at the bar.  Their game of choice:

Bailout Plan We Can Get Our Hands Around

First it was the banks.  Then it was the automobiles.  Next up, finally an industry wants a bailout that we can support–the porn industry.  Led by Hustler publisher Larry Flynt and Girls Gone Wild CEO Joe Francis, the adult entertainment industry will apparently request that Congress pass a $5 billion bailout package.

Flynt and Francis concede the industry itself is in no danger–while DVD sales have slipped over the past year, Web traffic has continued to grow.  But, they apparently beleive that Americans are depressed due to the economic news–and therefore, we need even more porn to cheer us up.… more>>

2009 World Series of Beer Pong

Well, maybe next year–Manlyweb once again forgot to book their tickets for the annual World Series of Beer Pong.  Even after writing about the 2008 World Series of Beer Pong.  Looks like we need to set a reminder in our calendars.

The 2009 World Series of Beer Pong was won by Ron Hamilton and Michael Popielarski, both 25, of New York.  They will split the $50,000 top prize.

Moviegoer Shoots Man on Cell Phone

In a case of “I don’t condone it, but I understand it” (or as a local radio station said, it fits Chris Rock’s take on OJ Simpson of “Not saying [he should have done it]…but I understand”), a movie patron in Philadelphia got fed up with a man talking loudly on his cell phone during the movie, so he pulled his gun and shot him in the arm.

More Sports Injuries Added

Watching the Vikings game today, saw another one of those gruesome sports injuries that for some reason facinate us.  Unfortunately it was a Viking–Charles Gordon–suffering the injury (which, in our expert medical opinion, was probably a dislocated and broken ankle, and/or broken leg).

Also reminded us that someone recently sent us a link to a YouTube video of a University of Houston receiver running full speed into a cart beyond the end zone, suffering a compound fracture of his leg.  I’m going to go out on a limb…and say that those carts won’t be there any more.

Clearfield, Pennsylvania, to be exact.  That’s the home to Denny’s Beer Barrel Pub.  And that is the home of “The Beer Barrel Belly Buster,” a 15-pound hamburger that comes with 5 pounds of toppings and a bun.

And Brad Sciullo recently became the first person to ever eat the 15-pound burger by himself, in under 5 hours.  Video of the event is here.  For doing so, he won $400 and three t-shirts.  No word on whether or not he had to down the fat and gristle to get the shirts.
