Man Suing Strip Club over Shoe Incident

A man in Florida is suing a strip club over a dancer’s flying shoe. At least, that’s what the headline reads–which sounds ridiculous.

As it turns out, it’s a bit more complicated than that–the shoe, which came off during a pole dance, flew off into the mirrored ceiling–causing the mirror to shatter, and rain glass down around the man (along with the shoe).

He is suing the club (called the Booby Trap) for breaching its duty when its employee failed to perform her routine in a reasonably safe manner. He claims he suffered a small cut to his eyebrow, … more>>

Lawyer Wrongfully Suspended?

A lawyer in DeKalb, Illinois, was suspended for 15-months for misconduct this past week by the The Illinois Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission, simply for harkening back to the days of yesterday, and utilizing the barter system with one of his clients to cover part of her bill.

The lawyer and his client agreed that they would trade professional services–so, she got some lawyering done for her, and he got some lap dancing done for him.

OK, the fact that Tom Brady tore his ACL last Sunday against the Chiefs and is out for the year isn’t exactly news. If you’re a football fan, you know this. Hell, if you’re not a football fan, odds are you’ve heard.

Man Rams Playboy Gates

A Ventura County man was arrested last week after ramming his car into the gates of the Playboy Mansion in Beverly Hills. After his release, he went back and did it again–but escaped before police could arrive. No word on whether Hugh Hefner and his girlfriends were home at the time. Detectives believe the incident was related to an ongoing dispute–no word on whether it was related to the man’s failure to secure an invite to a party, or perhaps their continuing futile efforts to help keep Pamela Anderson’s career relevant.

Vodka, Rum & Softball

Participated in a softball tournament this past weekend, which meant it was the perfect chance to break out some of the special booze we’ve recently received.

About a month ago, we had said we were going to be taking some vodka along on the annual Canadian fishing trip–well, having seen border crossings go wrong in previous years, and knowing we would spend all day-every day in a boat, we decided not to try bringing it across the border, and save it for another occasion.
